How it works
Lone worker protection made easy
TXTBuddy is incredibly simple to use. In order to set the system up, an administrator logs in to our online service and adds the name and contact numbers of your lone workers. If you have more than a few you can easily import them from a file or spreadsheet.
Then, add the contact information (name, mobile phone number and email address) of the people you want to receive alert messages from your lone workers. Add these contacts into group 1 for the first alert and/or group 2 for the second alert.
Finally, decide and enter the amount of time you want TXTBuddy to wait after a lone worker is late before the alarm is raised – so 15 minutes for example.
And that’s it, you are ready to go. You can log in any time to see which of your lone workers are currently on appointments and if they are late or on time. But you don’t need to log in unless you want to, because if they are late, you’ll automatically receive an alert by text message and email.
For your lone workers, the process couldn’t be simpler.
Lone worker process
Before a lone working appointment:
Send TXTBuddy a short text message to indicate that you are going into a lone appointment.
TXTBuddy will send you a confirmation message and a coded keyword that you use to confrm you are safe.
During the lone working appointment:
If you think you are going to overrun, don’t worry – just send a text message with a keyword and a time to extend the appointment.
After the appointment:
Simply text the keyword to TXTBuddy and everything is finished.
If you don’t cancel:
You will receive a reminder message first (just in case you forgot) and then if you still don’t respond, colleagues will be alerted and help you.
